Root RPG - Magic Supplement

The Root RPG - Magic Supplement provides a detailed description of how to implement
magic into your Root campaign or one-shot without removing the key features of the Root
RPG. Utilizing mechanics from The Root RPG Expansions, this supplement will enhance the
game-play experience when exploring Ruins and interacting with warring factions. Magic in
Root is expressed through the elements of nature and how vagabonds interact within it. Magic
(at least not yet) isn’t fantasmal or advanced into abundance, instead all people of the
woodlands have the slightest potential for magic hidden within. Therefore greater magic is
rare and magical items are scarce and often ancient.
The Five Elements of Magic are attached to the 5 stats; Wind-FIN, Earth-MIGHT,
Fire-CUN, Water-CHA, Steel-LUCK. Generally a character can only know one element unless
they select a move from a different Playbook during advancement. Any untrained or unalined
magic defaults to the LUCK ability. Magic will be applied through new Playbooks, Weapon
Tags, Equipment and customizable enemies and spells.
